Bristol's John May and Marshfield Kawasaki rider George Davis are two of the main contenders in the 15-round Remedies Bar Motocross Championship, which gets under way at the Little Silver Circuit at Exminster, near Exeter, on Sunday.

However, it is reigning champion Andrew Gillett who leads the expert class line-up with David Yelland, Jordan Carter and Luke Mellows.

In the 125cc class, which will be run with the experts, Plymouth's Darren Shears will be defending his title against close rivals Daniel Preston and Will Worden.

British Sidecar Trial champions Jon Tuck and Matt Sparks are poised to take the lead in the current series in the third round, which is integrated into the South Birmingham Club's DK Mansell Trophy event at Lydbury North, near Craven Arms in Shropshire, the same day.

Following their fourth place in the Isle of Man and their win at Newlyn, Tuck and Sparks are just one point behind Robin and Sam Luscombe, with Kevin Nolan and Darryl Dale and Rupert and Chris Kimber next in line.

There is a possibility of a clash between Wessex Centre champion Colin Crease and South West Centre Championship leader Ricky Wiggins in the Frome Club's Wyndham Haines Cup Trial in Asham Woods, Leighton in Somerset on Sunday.

Other riders expected to contest the three or four-lap event include Lee Hassall, Craig Talbot, Jason Hamblin and Ross Thurlow.

The Taunton Club have a trial tomorrow afternoon at Watchford Farm, near Chard, and other events on Sunday include the Bath Classic Club's event at Emborough Ponds, near Chilcompton, and the Torridge Club's Simon Higgins Aggregate Cup Trial at Hartland, in Devon.
