Police and her family are concerned about her safety due to health problems and recent bad weather.

Last seen in Filton at 7.30am on Saturday, September 22, posters of Ms Street have now gone up in shopping areas and key routes into Bristol as part of the efforts to find her. Leading the search for Mary, Detective Inspector Jill Kells said there had been unconfirmed sightings in Stokes Croft and the Waterfront.

Ms Kells said: "Mary has been missing for four days now and we are desperate to find her and make sure she is OK. We have not had any confirmed sightings of her since she went missing and because of her health she is considered especially vulnerable.

"I would urge people to take a few moments to look at her photo and ask themselves if they have seen her in the past few days. She may have taken shelter from the wet weather in a shed or garage so please check your property to see she is not there.

"We have already conducted extensive enquiries to find Mary and we will continue these efforts today."

Mary's sister, Jill Mayo, told the Post that she is worried that Ms Street may have gone through Winterbourne and out into the countryside.

She said: "Mary suffers from a form of dementia which means she struggles with certain memories.

"We know she showed a special interest in Winterbourne and she may have kept going out into the rural areas beyond. We would urge anybody in the area to check any where she could take refuge from the weather."

She added that Ms Street, a musician who had been a teacher for most of her working life, may not realise she is the subject of a search.

Ms Street is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, a medium to heavy build and with collar-length grey hair. She walks with a stoop and is believed to be wearing black trousers and a three quarter length grey coat.

If anyone has any information about the whereabouts of Ms Street, they should contact the police on 101.
