Comment: In praise of Lauren and dave Tew
Anyone fighting cancer will know there are times when it is hard to be positive.
But the Tew family from Brislington have really been quite incredible, with Dave setting up a charity in 2006 to help others after he was diagnosed. He was given the worst diagnosis of all but he fought and beat the predictions of doctors.
Now his widow, Lauren, and the couple's family have decided to close the charity after more than £10,000 was raised.
She says of her husband: ''He was an inspiration to all lucky enough to know him."
The campaign ''Let's Beat Cancer'' didn't just raise funds; it urged people not to put off until tomorrow what they could do today – Dave lived by this motto.
Many of us could learn from it.
