Spare a thought for Councillor Steve Comer who nearly got badly ripped off in Llandudno a few weeks ago.

When I say "ripped", I do actually mean rip as in torn - not the victim of a scam.

He was about to open his driver's door on his Toyota Corolla (not a Volvo as some blogs might suggest) as a coach was passing.

And although he only had the door slightly ajar, the narrow street meant there was not much room for the coach to pass.

In fact, there was no room at all and the door was very badly bent.

It was so bad, the car had to be transported back to Bristol on a recovery truck with Mr Comer on board.

He had been attending a Welsh TUC conference, wearing his hat as a national executive member of the PCS union.

That's the Public and Commercial Service Union which represents the majority of lower tier civil servants.

Next time you see Mr Comer's charabang, check out the driver's door - it's very new and shiny.
