College students given tips on managing purse strings
STUDENTS at City of Bristol College built their financial knowledge, skills and confidence during Barclays Money Skills week.
The initiative was designed to give students an awareness of money management issues and provide them with the tools they need to stay in control of their budget.

Students participated in money management activities based on topics such as food, fashion, family and independent living.
Barclays and the National Skills Academy for Financial Services worked in partnership to develop a week-long series of money related activities to provide students with the tools they need to stay in control of their budget.

Students that participated in 2012 demonstrated clear improvements in their money management skills, such as improved budgeting skills and adapting their budgeting behaviour when prompted with a variety of financial scenarios.
