Colin Golding romped to an easy win in the first round of the South West Disabled & Over 55s Series of Four, fished on Match Pool at Acorn Carp Lakes, Kingston Seymour.

The former England international poled soft pellet at seven metres centre off peg four and brought 56-12-0 of carp weighing between 2-6lb to the scales.

The runner-up was Bob 'The Bread' Price, who poled a variety of baits into the far lakeside margins of peg nine for 39-6-0.

Beaten into third place by the weight of one fish was Martin Alexander, who used soft pellet to tempt a similar catch of mostly carp from the margins of peg two.

Fourth-placed Ted Bethel poled maggot and caster all around at peg 12 and included 5-2-0 of silvers among his total of 28-10-0.

Results – Overall: 1, Colin Golding 56-12-0, peg 4; 2, Bob Price 39-6-0, peg 9; 3, Martin Alexander 38-2-0, peg 2; 4, Ted Bethel 28-10-0, peg 12; 5, Steve Nethercott 27-0-0, peg 3; 6, Bill Ferris 13-6-0, peg 14. Silverfish: 1, Ted Bethel 5-2-0, peg 12.
