Cockpit lands at Bombay Nights Indian takeaway in Bristol
AN AMBITIOUS takeaway owner has invested £5,000 in part of a plane – in the hope it will attract aviation industry workers to his restaurant.
And it is not just any plane, but one used in the 2006 film adaptation of controversial worldwide bestseller The Da Vinci Code.

The front of the mid-sized business jet, known as a Hawker Siddeley HS.125, was delivered to Bombay Nights in Charlton Road, Brentry yesterday. Now owners just need to work out how to get it inside.
The unusual artefact was brought to the shop from London, and the shop's front window may have to be taken out so that it could fit inside.
Owner Alim Abdul, 18, bought the flight deck after coming across a website that buys retired planes from airlines and either restores or recycles them.
Despite the £5,000 cost the young businessman regarded it as a sound investment that could attract Bristolians interested in aviation.
His Indian takeaway is close to Filton Airfield and many of his customers are Airbus employees.
"I want to restore this flight deck to its former glory and turn it into a luxury reception area where customers can sit," he said.
"It will be fitted with leather seats and will look just like the inside of an executive jet liner."
Mr Abdul hopes that customers and their children will enjoy relaxing in the aircraft while they wait for food.

“What a waste of 5 grand!!!.....In these tough economic times, the money surely would have been better spent on awareness marketing and special offers to encourage people to choose Bombay Nights' food, rather than spend their hard earned cash somewhere else.
Half an aeroplane???.....I don't think so.”

“Why would someone who works on aircraft want to spend their evenings around...aircraft?? Personally, when I leave work I want to forget about it for the day, but then I do work in a prison.”

“Erm did anyone tell him that Filton airfield is closing end of this year? Not such a good investment!”
