Coalpit Shaft come out on top in shoot-out
The President's Cup final was a thrilling 10-goal encounter which ended with Coalpit Shaft winning 5-4 on penalties.
Coalpit were leading 3-2 at half-time but Greenwoods Greats staged a great comeback to tie the game 5-5 after 90 minutes. An extra period of 30-minutes still could not separate the teams and the match was eventually decided on penalties.
Coalpit's scorers were Matthew Cole (2), Jason Fletcher, Ian Pace and Sacha Tong, while Gary Booth, Everton Burke, Robert Clarke, Andrew Gibson and David Owen were on target for the losers.
In the Senior Division, Ashley Milkins hit four goals in Fowlers De Veys' 7-2 home win over Castle Court United. Ashley Riddick and John and Nicky Nutland were also on the scoresheet.
SCS Sunday continued their march towards the Division I title with a resounding 8-0 home win over The Robins.
Chris Lewis hit a hat-trick and there were goals for Ben Fry, Jonathan Kilpatrick, Jason Lawrence, Lee Marshment and Sean Rowlands.
UWE Dynamos haven't given up the chase for the title just yet and turned in another good performance, winning 6-1 at home to Quality Finish.
A hat-trick by Mark Drane, a couple from Kieren Kelly and a Ola Sanusi strike settled the outcome.
The highest scoring game of the weekend saw 14 goals fly in as The Swan (Hanham) defeated Zimba FC 10-4.
Jon Poole took the individual honours with a hat-trick for The Swan. Bradley Robbins and David Scutt both scored twice, with Jonathan Powell, Matthew Robbins and an own goal completing the tally.
Rhubarb Tavern inflicted another heavy defeat on the team propping up Division II, South Bristol United.
The Tavern ran out 7-1 winners thanks to four goals from Jordan Hopes and strikes by Shaun Morgan, Carl Brain and Dale Cook.
In the only other game in Division II, Royal Oak Nailsea saw off City Dart Veterans 2-1.
