Coalpit Heath blow their big chance
Coalpit Heath missed out on taking runners-up spot in the Bristol & District League behind champions Lawrence Rovers in the Senior Division after losing 5-2 away to Shirehampton Reserves.
Heath took a 2-1 lead through strikers Andy Hamilton-Dunn and Karim Randall, but both were later taken off injured so, with only one substitute available, the visitors had to play with 10 men.
Shire bounced back through Dan Griffiths (2), Olly Giltrow, Ben McKenna and an own goal. "We had six players cry off , which was so disappointing for such an important game," said Heath secretary Terry Bisp.
Made For Ever took advantage of Heath's slip-up to clinch second place with a 1-0 home win against AXA Reserves, who came close to cancelling out Tony Fisher's second-half goal with a shot which hit the post in the last minute.
Gary West grabbed a last-gasp leveller for Hartcliffe CC in a 2-2 home draw with Nicholas Wanderers Reserves, who led through Tom Pallent and Jack Zabec. Cameron Hughes was the other Hartcliffe scorer.
Chipping Sodbury Reserves crashed 3-0 at home to goals from Mark Cousins, James Chidgey and Jamie Britt for Hanham Reserves.
Seymour United Reserves ended a season to remember as champions of Division II with a 1-0 home success against DRG Stapleton Reserves, thanks to Jack Garland's second-half strike.
Greyfriars Athletic Reserves ran out 3-0 winners at home to AEK Boco Reserves, Lee Hodson, Paul Loftus and Ben Hewitt netting for the home side.
There was only one game in Division I where Shaftesbury Crusaders moved off the bottom of the table with an impressive 5-3 home win over Sea Mills Park. A hat-trick from Colin Hale and goals from Rob Salter and Sean Kelly saw them leapfrog Hartcliffe Reserves.
In Division III, Hanham Athletic A fought out a 3-3 home draw Chipping Sodbury Town A, whose scorers were Dimitri Brumble, Paul Dingley and John Hawkins. Darren Bell, Dave Jones and Luke Derham netted for Hanham, who are four points behind second- placed Warmley Saints.
Andy Payne cracked a hat-trick as Broad Walk continued their fine form with a 5-3 home win against Hillfields Old Boys Reserves.
Two goals from Charlie Jones earned Oakland a 2-2 draw with Frampton Athletic Reserves, while John Rea scored the only goal of the game as Olveston United Reserves overcame Totterdown United Reserves.
Gareth Smith, Mike Bristow and Paul Corbett fired Oldland Abbotonians A to a 3-1 away win over AXA A in Division IV.
Division V bottom club St Pancras Reserves lost 2-0 against second-placed Henbury, whose scorers were Daniel Pearce and Daniel Barnes.
Richard Duffy led the way with a hat-trick in Inter the Bloomfield's 6-3 drubbing of Coalpit Heath Reserves. Steven Brock (2) and Steve Kelly were also on target.

Greyfriars Athletic A beat Bendix 3-1 thanks to goals from Chris Walker, Greg Popek and Billy Alderman.
Southmead CStook over top spot in Division VI by slamming Crosscourt United Reserves 8-1. Ben Fry took the scoring honours with four goals to take his tally for the season to 40. Title rivals St George Rangers suffered a 3-2 away defeat at the hands of Bradley Stoke Town Reserves, for whom Nick Hingston netted a hat-trick.
