Clubbing Ruffneck Revival
Subtitled From Bristol with Love, this genre-hopping party session offers a nicely framed snapshot of Bristol's dance music underground. Lining up fresh talent alongside DJs with decades of experience, it's an opportunity to reflect on a world-class scene that continues to forge ahead while remaining proud of its roots.
Tying it all together is the unstoppable Jakes. The resident MC at seminal drum & bass night Ruffneck Ting during the Nineties, he lent vocals to anthems by Substance and Tech Itch and performed regularly with EZ Rollers.

More recently his label H.E.N.C.H has come to define the tougher, more upfront side of Bristol dubstep, with self-produced bangers like 3Kout and Titan setting the label's agenda. At Lakota he'll be getting stuck into both genres – taking to the mic during Dazee's set before grabbing his box of dubplates for the headline slot.
It should be a good night for junglists as well, with tearing ragga-jungle revivalist Aries and rave scene veterans DJ Bunjy and MC Joe Peng to look forward to.

Meanwhile, flying the flag for the latest mutations is Arkist, whose hazy fusions of house, techno and dubstep are a great advertisement for Bristol's leading role at bass music's cutting edge.
Finally, if there's one influence that all of the above have in common it's soundsystem reggae, so the inclusion of Andy Scholes of roots and dub legends Henry & Louis is inspired programming for room two – a vintage Bristol rave in the making.
