Clink leads Chipping Sodbury trio to victory at Minchinhampton

FORMER county captain Tim Clink, from Lilley Brook, led a Chipping Sodbury trio to victory in the ninth annual Gloucestershire Golf Union Am Am over the Avening course at Minchinhampton.

The team, which comprised county captain Mike Darby (off 7), Kevin Campbell (17) and Daryl Griffee (10) and won with a record low score of 123 points.

They beat fellow Sodbury players Tony Davis, Trevor Stewart and Jim Ford on countback. They finished on 125 points with James Dobbs (Forest Hills) their team leader. Lansdown's Paul Garland led the led the trio from Sherdons into third place, on countback.

McLean, the in-form Brickhampton Court player, played with a team from Filton and won the individual prize with a round of 67, one better than Knowle's Sam Morgan,
