Clevedon stretch winning run to three
Clevedon claimed their third win in a row when beating Somerset rivals Yatton 24-3 to climb a point behind third-from-bottom St Mary's in South West Two West.
Clevedon were 6-3 ahead at the break after Rory Biggins kicked two penalties. Tony Hill replied for Yatton, but Biggins missed four other attempts at goal.
Biggins then kicked his third penalty before crossing for a try, but he was winded in the process of touching down and Simon Johns landed the conversion instead.
Johns extended the lead with a penalty before Chris Cates finished off a good team try.
In Western Counties North, North Bristol's hopes of finishing second were virtually dashed when they failed to break their duck against Chosen Hill and lost 34-14.
Almondsbury-based North are now four points behind Hill with only three games left.
Hill, who have two games in hand on North Bristol, scored 19 unanswered second-half points to secure the victory in Churchdown.
North were ahead thanks to a try from Ross Wilson and a Dan Snow penalty but they were 15-14 adrift at the break, with Snow kicking two more penalties.
Barton Hill remain hot on the heels of North Bristol after routing Old Centralians 80-7 with winger Joe Sampson scoring four tries, while Dominic Grey crossed for a hat-trick.
Kris Coots, Craig Hughes, Matt Richards (2) and Steve Ireland also touched down with Richards adding 10 conversions.
Old Redcliffians' hopes of claiming a fourth-placed finish suffered a setback when they lost 55-26 at Widden Old Boys.
In Gloucester Premier, Southmead's title bid is all but over after they lost 23-13 to leaders Drybrook, who have now gone four points clear.
The north Bristol side were 23-0 behind at the break but hit back through a Scott Power try and a conversion and two penalties from Danny Cotterell.
Chipping Sodbury are up to fifth in Gloucester One after winning 29-5 against Brockworth, with tries coming from Craig Staples, Mark Barker, Neil Gapper, and Roger Pierce-Jones. Steve Romanowski landed three conversions and a penalty.
A weakened Old Bristolians outfit lost 34-7 at Tewkesbury. Ben Bagnall converted his own try. In Somerset Premier, Bristol Harlequins won 34-0 against Chew Valley, Ross Hickery, Scott Manning and Jason Court (2) touching down, with Hickery landing two penalties and four conversions.
The Bristol & District Combination Sevens tournament has been replaced by a 10-a-side competition, which is being sponsored by Heineken, and will be played on Monday, May 4.
The tournament will be hosted by Clifton RFC and each team will receive a goody bag, T-shirt for each player, and a small keg of beer for each squad.
There is also a chance for the winners of the tournament to earn £5,000 for their club, if they come out on top against the champions of 15 other Heineken 10s competitions.
