Cambridge City 4 Clevedon United 1: Clevedon's poor run of results continued as they slumped to another defeat.

And manager Nick Tucker will intensify his search to bring in a couple of players to boost his squad as they look to climb out of the bottom four.

The Clevedon defence was always struggling against the confident Cambridge attack, while up front Clevedon never really offered any real threat.

The home side opened the scoring on 39 minutes, when Matt Haniver passed a free-kick to striker Matty Fuller, who hammered the ball through a poorly lined-up Clevedon defensive wall and into the net.

Cambridge doubled their advantage six minutes after the restart, when Fuller cut inside his marker before finishing powerfully.

On 69 minutes, Clevedon stopper Danny Greaves failed to hold on to a powerful Fuller shot and Neil Midgley tapped in to make it 3-0.

Steve Gentle completed the scoring for the home side after Clevedon failed to deal with a cross, before Jamal Easter grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.
