Clevedon market out to boost town trade
A new craft market is to be launched in Clevedon in an attempt to bring more trade to the town centre.
Simon Parry, who already has a stall at the monthly Nailsea craft market and Weston-super-Mare farmers market, has applied for the licence to operate a craft market in Queens Square.
The first market will be on October 24 and run from 9am to 12.30pm and run alongside the existing farmers market.
Mr Parry, 57, who runs UKEventPhotos and sells his landscape prints at the craft markets, said: "Nailsea has had a craft market for a year now and this has proved to be a huge success.
"We have had an excellent response from stallholders about setting up a craft market in Clevedon and expect around a dozen to be at the first event."
The market will run for three months and if successful, a licence will be applied for to run it throughout 2010.
Anyone who wants to know more or book a stall at the market can contact Mr Parry on 01934 420201 or email simon@ukeventphotos.com.
