Clevedon continue improved form
Clevedon's improved form continued when they put fellow strugglers St Mary's Old Boys to the sword in South West Two West.
The Seasiders won 45-11 to secure their fourth victory in a row and have climbed to third from bottom, leapfrogging their rivals from Winterbourne.
Steve Johnson collected a 20-point haul from four conversions and four penalties, while Chris Cates, Ben Chase, Tom Thie and Simon Johns (2) scored their tries. In reply, Chris Ramwell kicked two penalties and Ian Broughton touched down.
Fourth-from-bottom Yatton needed a Tom Hill penalty to secure a 16-16 draw with Brixham and keep them a point ahead of Clevedon. Hill also landed two other penalties and converted a try from Chris Edwards.
Avonmouth kept alive their slim hopes of claiming second place by winning 20-16 at Paington. 'Mouth are two points behind Newton Abbot with two matches left but the Devon outfit boast a far superior points difference.
Against Paington, Elliot Goodman and Charlie Reynolds touched down with Reynolds slotting two conversions and two penalties.
In Western Counties North, Keynsham claimed their third win in succession by beating third-placed North Bristol 28-20.
Keynsham climbed to third- from-bottom, leapfrogging Thornbury, thanks to tries from Richard Gay, Phil Eames and Chris Bees, while Paul Edson kicked two conversions, two penalties and a drop goal.
North Bristol's points came from tries by Nigel Smith (2), Alex Featherstone and Dan Snow.
Old Redcliffians thrashed Old Centralians 62-5 to keep their hopes of a third-placed finish alive. Reds are five points behind North Bristol and have two games in hand.
Former Bristol Academy winger Joe Woodward grabbed a hat-trick of tries while brothers Jason and Craig Owen, Rob Dyer, Luke Nabaro, Olly Barnet, Dave Jones, and Harry Adams also touched down. Matt Manuel kicked six conversions.
Joe Sampson crossed the whitewash, with Matt Richards adding the extras, in Barton Hill's 45-7 defeat at Berry Hill.
Thornbury were on the wrong end of a seven-try hiding when they lost 48-15 at Chosen Hill.
Dave Matthews hit a penalty and conversion to add to tries from Andy Bamford and Ben Fowkes.
