Clevedon are closer to the final
Clevedon, who reached the final of the national inter-club championship in 1975, meet Lincoln at the Rugby Thornfield club in the quarter-finals on Saturday, and are hoping to win the Denny Cup for the first time.
All four players who won the national outdoor fours title in August are in the side, while Clevedon's four skips are veteran Pip Branfield, John Hick, Daran Mason and Craig Walker.
Cotswold, who are in the Denny Plate competition, will also be in action on Saturday when they take on Darlington at the Gedling club in Nottingham, for a place in the semi finals.
Debbie Stavrou, from the Desborough club in Maidenhead, won the WBT Women's World Match Play title at Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk yesterday, when she beat Guernsey's Alison Merrien, 12-7, 6-7, 2-1, in the final.
Local supporters were dismayed when Mervyn King, who won the WBT world indoor singles title in 2006, crashed out at the hands of Welsh star Robert Weale, who won 6-8, 8-2, 2-0.
Then in the last session, Greg Harlow, the number two seed, from the Ciy of Ely, ground out a 5-5, 9-4 win over Jonathan Ross, from Ireland.
