Clevedon Town 0 Oxford City 1

Clevedon Town retained their Southern League Premier Division status despite losing their last game of the season in front of a season's-best crowd of 329.

Nick Tucker's men avoided the drop as other results went their way.

Ex-Bristol Rovers midfielder Dave Savage went close to giving Oxford the lead in the fourth minute as the visitors announced themselves, while the home side suffered a setback two minutes later, losing Kyle Bassett through injury.

In the 14th minute, Supporters' Player of the Season Danny Greaves made a superb save to turn a shot from Darren Pond over the bar and he made another fine stop to prevent the visitors from going ahead eight minutes before half-time.

At the other end, former Weston goalkeeper Ryan Harrison was not tested until the 53rd minute when he did well to keep out a shot from Pete Sheppard.

Ten minutes later, Harrison saved from Jamal Easter and the rebound fell to Tom Billing, but he shot wide of goal.

Sam Small later had the ball in the net, but he was offside.

Oxford went ahead in the 86th minute when substitute Mark Bell shot home from a cross from Mike Lyon.

Sheppard could have levelled the scores soon afterwards, but Harrison again denied the Clevedon midfielder.
