Former Bristol Rovers striker sacked as Clevedon Town boss
Clevedon Town sacked manager Wayne Powell after they slipped to the bottom of the Southern League Premier Division following their 3-2 defeat at Tiverton Town on Saturday.
Former Bristol Rovers striker Powell took over at the Hand Stadium in the summer following the resignation of Phil Bater.
Powell said: "When I took over I was left with only three players and I thought I did well to get a team together in such a short time. But after a reasonable start unfortunately things didn't go well."
Chairman Pat O'Brien said: "Our position in the League dictated our decision as we want to stay in Premier Division."
