Claire Burrows scoops assistant of the year accolade
NEWLY-WED Claire Burrows (nee Hobbs), 24, a former Cumberwell Park and Wiltshire amateur, who is now assistant professional at Chippenham Golf Club, has won the PGA Female Assistant of the Year award.
The Beverly Lewis Trophy and £1,500 prize were presented at the PGA's graduation ceremony at the University of Birmingham.
Burrows, pictured. was encouraged to make a career in golf by Bath-based Cumberwell head professional John Jacobs.
A round of the 36-hole Mid Amateur golfer event, The Players Club Mid Amateur Stroke Play Championship, will take place at The Players Club on May 4.
