Bristol City have denied a report linking 20-goal top scorer Nicky Maynard with Premier League clubs Wolves and newly-promoted West Brom.

The report suggested Wolves are prepared to table a bid of £3 million for the 23-year-old striker, while West Brom are reported to have had a scout at Saturday's final home game of the season against Derby.

City caretaker boss Keith Millen dismissed the rumours. He said: "It's all news to me. It would take a lot more money than that for us to even consider selling Nicky."

A strong City reserve team beat Bournemouth 2-0 in a Totesport.com Combination fixture at Ashton Gate.

Scotland international striker David Clarkson opened the scoring on 19 minutes, timing his run to perfection to turn in Ivan Sproule's cross from close range.

Joe Edwards created the second 12 minutes from time, by forcing defender Dan Sturgnell to head into his own net.
