A CITY centre gym has joined an award scheme that rates clubs and leisure centres by asking what their members think of the service.

Fitness4Less in Union Street will be judged by members on quality of customer service, facilities and value for money as part of the Health Club Awards.

Simon Brown who runs the scheme said: "Belonging to a good facility is a rewarding experience. Members probably spend more time there than they realise and it becomes an integral part of their lifestyle.

"For the club it’s not easy to get every aspect just right. It requires a lot of hard work and a belief that members should have a rewarding experience every time they visit the club”.

This year over one million members across the UK will have the chance to vote for their facility.

Those sites will be recognised for their excellence.

Fitness4Less club manager Jamie Ellis said "We are very proud of the level of service we provide and strive to achieve for all our members to enjoy, and be a part of the experience we aim to deliver.

"We believe we offer excellent value for money and the health club awards are a great way to prove it and for our members to show their support and appreciation."

“this is one off the filthiest gyms ive ever been to , add to the fact of it is dangerously busy at times with people leaving weights everywhere and the staff just stood around chatting(one short kiddy loves his own voice far to much) i for one will not be voting for it only maybe for the most dirty male shower area in bristol”
