City Council pays tribute to Holocaust victims
AN event is to be held at City Hall to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
A workshop will be held to examine the horrors of the Second World War, and the role Bristolians can play to tackle discrimination and intolerance in today's society.

Bristol Mayor George Ferguson will speak about the importance of remembering and building bridges, and students from Bristol Cathedral Choir School will give readings.
The session will run from 2pm to 5pm on Thursday, January 24 in the conference hall at the College Green building.

“Let us hope that the commemoration of Holocaust Day, January 27th, will also remember the German nationals and the other groups and nationalities who also were victims of this horrific regime.
It was not only the Jewish community that suffered although they were in the majority but many others as well although it seems that the world has largely seen fit to ignore them.”
