City of Bristol College creates new apprenticeships
City of Bristol College has created 15 apprenticeships as part of its efforts to support the area's economy in the recession.
The apprenticeships are in business administration, customer service and contact centres, and will allow apprentices to gain training while working towards a work-based learning qualification such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3. Successful candidates will work and train at the college for one year.
Apprentices will gain on-the-job work experience for four days each week, with a day release for one day at college. The apprenticeships support the college's Shape Your Future campaign, which aims to support individuals and businesses through the recession.
Les Caunce, head of human resources and organisational development at the college, said: "While the recession has brought many challenges, we're committed to help the region prepare for economic recovery. This includes helping individuals to maximise their employability, change jobs or gain work."
