Churchill traffic lights to get £80,000 upgrade
A PROJECT to renew traffic lights at a busy crossroads at Churchill is due to get underway in the New Year.
The scheme, costing £80,000, will start on January 7 and will involve replacing the existing traffic signal controller, support poles and signal heads at the lights on the A38/A368 junction with new energy efficient, LED traffic signal equipment.

The traffic lights at Churchill are to get an upgrade.
Using this technology will mean energy and carbon savings will be in the region of 70%.
The upgrade works, being carried out by North Somerset Council, will also remove the need for annual lamp replacement reducing future maintenance costs.

There will also be improvements in traffic flow with the new controller reducing delays at the junction.
The work is scheduled to take four weeks, weather permitting and temporary traffic lights will be in place which may cause delays during peak times and all road users are asked to be patient while the work is carried out.
