Chinese Elvis plays jailhouse wok
THIS "King" was certainly not lonesome in Bristol.
Chinese Elvis performed his show in front of a sea of diners at Wongs Chinese Restaurant in Denmark Street last night.

For £35, including a four-course Oriental dinner, the audience got to listen to the tribute act belting out some of Elvis' most memorable songs during a 90-minute set.
Chinese Elvis' real name is Paul Hyu. According to his website, he is the first and only Chinese Elvis impersonator registered with the actors' union, Equity.
He worked around the world as an actor and singer before taking on his stage persona, imitating the "King of Rock 'n' Roll".
Chinese Elvis has made a number of appearances in TV programmes and films. In 2008, he took part in the charity Elvis-tribute edition of The Weakest Link quiz, impressing host Anne Robinson as he became the "strongest link" and won £5,900 for the NSPCC and the Islington Chinese Association.
The real Elvis Presley had a record-breaking music and film career. He had 21 UK number one singles – the most of any act – as well as 79 weeks combined at the top of the singles chart, which is another record.
He died, aged 42, on August 16, 1977, at home in Memphis, Tennessee.

“This story has stayed with me since reading it yesterday, in fact it's been "always on my ming"; I thank you, I'm here all week (apologies to PJB_1972 above).”

“Why cant we let Elvis rest in peace.. why keep dragging out the same costumes and probably saying the same few grunts.. Such stereotyping becomes incredibly boring....”

“So on the same front page where there is a story about racism towards traffic wardens we get a headline about a chinese Elvis impersonator including a 'jailhouse wok' pun.
Nice work.”
