Bristol children catching up with a good book
Badock's Wood Primary School in Southmead is full of book fans thanks to the success of reading improvement schemes.
Pupils who have taken part in Reading Recovery and Better Reading Partners programmes have shown rapid progress.

Many of them have now become avid readers and their hard work was rewarded when 25 children were presented with books and certificates at a celebration event.
Parents and volunteers who have worked with the pupils were invited to attend.
Reading Recovery teacher Alison Knight said the intensive one-to-one support, aimed mainly at children aged five to seven, had shown excellent results.
"This success has lifted the attitude to reading within the school. The children are so enthusiastic and love reading now. This was a chance to celebrate that –and to encourage parents to continue reading practice with their children."
