Chelsea hits a double in Portishead victory
Bristol Girls League: Portishead Juniors Under-10s secured their second win of the season with a fine display and 5-0 victory against a battling Longwell Green B side.
Aimee Morgan opened the scoring with a superb strike in the first half and after upping their game in the second period, Kyla Probert and player-of-the-match Izzy Batchelor added a goal apiece for Portishead. A further two efforts from Chelsea Hill completed the scoring.
Alys Withers and Sophie Dumine shared goalkeeping and defensive duties for the victors, supported well by Eloise Hubbard and Emily Dickens, in a solid team display.
Downend Flyers and Frampton Rangers B Under-10s fought out an entertaining goalless draw.
Frampton were indebted at times to keeper Isabella Powell, who made some fine saves, while defenders Morgan Scantlebury and Rebecca Walding had smashing games under mounting pressure from Downend after the break.
In midfield Lily Martin and Molly Harris worked tirelessly for Frampton, while Charlotte Daly looked lively from the bench. Twins Ruby and Ellie Michael played well on their debuts, as did Kiana West.
As for Downend, Lydia Harris turned in a terrific defensive display to help shut out their opponents.
Keynsham Town Under-12s made it seven wins out of seven with a fantastic team performance in beating Bristol Union C 14-1. Mollie Chapple, Becky Sheppard and Emily Parsons were solid in defence, allowing Keynsham to play their best passing football of the season.
Chloe Williams and Ashleigh Rooke were busy in midfield, maintaining regular supply to Victoria Powell who led the scoring with six goals. Danielle Ash struck four of the goals, Charlieanne Alford netted three times and Kelsie Gunstone capped a great display on the wing with the other.
Downend Flyers A Under-12s cruised to a 6-0 win against a determined Highridge team who never gave up. Had it not been for their keeper the margin of victory would have been greater.
Goals from Jasmin Truman (2), Holly Checketts (2), Coral Lynett and Lottie Clark saw Flyers to the win, while Robyn Kelley turned in a terrific midfield performance.
