Green-fingered guru Charlie Dimmock has visited Bristol to give environmental advice to residents.

Visiting the greenest house and garden in the city, the Create Ecohome in Smeaton Road, Ms Dimmock – who is best known for her role as Alan Titchmarsh's sidekick on television programme Ground Force – urged residents to make the most of green spaces.

Yesterday's event helped to mark Urban Gardens Week, which starts next Monday and aims to show how even a small urban garden can have a positive environmental impact by making small changes such as installing a compost bin to break down unused food for fertiliser.

Ms Dimmock visited the centre and shared quick and low-cost solutions to help home owners make eco-friendly changes to their gardens.
