Bristol Cabot Choir will be holding a concert in aid of the Life Education Centres charity tomorrow.

The concert features music chosen to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Handel's death and the 350th anniversary of Purcell's birth.

The programme includes Handel's The King Shall Rejoice, which was composed for the coronation of George II in 1727, and Purcell's Remember Not Lord Our Offences.

The choir will also perform Bach's Cantata 140, Wachet Auf (Sleepers Awake), and Mozart's Laudate Dominum.

Choir committee member Debbie Gibbs said: "Our charitable aims give a special focus to our performances and our audience can enjoy superb music while supporting a local charity.

"Last season we raised over £4,000 for prostate cancer research in Bristol and we are hoping to match that achievement this time."

The concert will be held at St Alban's Church, Westbury Park and begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at the door or from Providence Music.

A concert staged by the choir at Bristol Cathedral in December raised £2,300 for Life Education, which promotes personal, social and health education through mobile classrooms.
