Charity Swimathon Set To Make A Splash
THOUSANDS of swimmers are expected to descend on Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-super-Mare to compete in two major Swimathons.
The Big Splash Mile in aid of Sport Relief and Swimathon For Marie Curie Cancer Care, will take place at 645 UK Pools, including Hutton Moor, from April 27-29.
Both events will give thousands of swimmers the opportunity to take on a challenge and raise vital funds for either charity.
Sport Relief swimmers can choose from a one mile solo event or compete in a team mile and for Marie Curie there are distances of 2.5k, 5k or a team 5k.

Dave Somers, Hutton Moor General Manager, said: "The Swimathons will take place across the country and it is hoped this will be the biggest Swimathon weekend ever.
"Swimmers will be raising money for two worthy causes, Marie Curie, which supports cancer suffers and Sport Relief, helping deprived families across the world.
"We hope swimmers will come along and support these charity initiatives."
Funds raised by taking on the challenges for Marie Curie Cancer Care will provide free nursing care and support for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.
The charity expects to care for more than 31,000 terminally ill patients in the community, as well as in its hospices across the country this year.
Money raised for the Big Splash Mile will be spent by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and in the world's poorest countries.
