Champions Reading set to face Flyers
Bristol Academy Flyers host last year's champions Reading Rockets in their first home league game of the season tomorrow.
Reading went undefeated to win everything last year, but head coach Dave Titmuss has since moved to take charge of Worthing Thunder and star player Dave Watts has joined the Manchester Magic.
The Rockets have also lost last season's Most Valuable Player, US import Terell Smith. However, they remain a force to be reckoned with under new coach Sasa Punosevac.
The Flyers have had a hectic week, gathering four wins in seven days to secure a home quarter-final spot in the National Trophy and also their first win of the league season at Coventry Crusaders.
Tip-off against Reading will be at 7pm at the Filton College WISE campus arena.
On Sunday, the Flyers will play local rivals Taunton Tigers in the third round of the National Cup.
Tip-off against Taunton will be at 5pm, again at the WISE campus arena.
Flyers head coach Andreas Kapoulas said: "This weekend is the most challenging so far with two really strong and respected opponents.
"Our team has been playing well and the four wins have given us a good confidence boost."
Tom Hutchinson (wrist) is out, but the Flyers expect to recall Arek Makowski.
