Double British Sidecar Trial champion Jon Tuck has overcome a shoulder injury sustained in a cycling accident and he and agile passenger Matt Sparks will be defending their title in the opening round of the new series at Santon, on the Isle of Man, tomorrow.

Wessex Centre Timed and Observation Trial champion Shane Lovatt is expected to be fit to compete in the North Somerset club's Terry Bunn Memorial event in Scars Wood, Backwell Hill, near Lulsgate, on Sunday.

The South Somerset star injured his knee in the BSSA's New Year's Day meeting at West Harptree, which kept him out of action for several weeks.

More than 50 riders are expected to contest the hour-long event, including Paul Manning, Jeremy Cross, Jeremy Walters, Tom Smith, Andy Scrivens and Steve Thorne.

The annual Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show takes place at the Royal Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, tomorrow and Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Bath Classic Club are running a trial in nearby Binegar Bottom Quarry, at Gurney Slade, which is expected to attract competitors from Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Wiltshire.

The Wessex branch of the British Sporting Sidecar Association have lost their longstanding secretary Glynis Sinclair, who died at the weekend following a long illness. She is survived by husband "Mack" and sons Phillip and Martin.

Her funeral is at Westerleigh Crematorium on Monday at 2.30pm.
