Former Bristol Rovers defender Trevor Challis and ex-Bristol City striker Marvin Brown have joined forces to bring football to Bristol youngsters.

Together with coach David McGibbon, they have formed Bristol Pro Soccer and spent the recent half-term running a four-day soccer school in Knowle West, which attracted more than 30 youngsters each day.

They ran a similar scheme during the Easter break and will be returning to do the same again during the summer holidays.

Challis, aged 33, made 145 appearances for Rovers between 1988-2003 and is about to embark on his final playing season, with Conference South side Eastleigh.

Brown, aged 25, had 19 outings for City between 1999-2005 and is also currently playing Conference South football with Weston-super-Mare.

Challis said: "It's extremely rewarding to take football to youngsters who might not have much and see them come alive for the four hours we are with them.

"We are also looking to go into schools to deliver football as well as after-school clubs, birthday parties and offering private school holiday coaching."
