Celebrating my maiden win with one or two ciders
WEEKS off at home always fly by. My routine after a long trip away is always the same – for the first few days, anyway. I get a load of food in, enjoy sleeping in my own bed, catch up with my friends and watch the football.
I didn't pick up a golf club for five days after returning home from Dubai, which gave me a nice break following my busy Desert Swing.
To celebrate my first European Tour win in Qatar, last week my parents arranged for a few friends and family members to meet us at one of the best pubs around near where we live. I say this because it serves the best cider, of course! Let's just say that I wasn't in the best shape of my life the morning after. Rightly so.
I got back in the gym with Andy on Thursday and started off again with some basic core exercises. From there, we will move on to some heavier stuff this week.

I went to Ashton Gate for the first time in seven weeks on Saturday. It was good to be back. As you probably already know, Bristol City secured a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest and, I have to say, it was as good as I've seen the team play in ages.
It was nice to see the players playing for manager Sean O'driscoll and I think that they looked like a team who should be competing nearer the top half of the Championship, as opposed to the relegation zone.
Fingers crossed they can maintain that sort of performance for the rest of the season and get themselves out of trouble sooner rather than later.
I barely moved on Sunday as sitting in front of the TV watching Super Sunday on Sky Sports is something that I look forward to every time I'm home. This past week, I had the added bonus of a roast dinner at my girlfriend's house at lunch followed by a second one at my mum and dad's house in the evening. What a treat. As Sundays go, that's hard to beat, let me tell you!
My next event is the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship, which takes place in the United States at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Arizona. It's the top 64 players in the Official World Golf Ranking competing in a straight knock-out competition, so it's a great tournament and one I'm very much looking forward to.
For professional golfers, these are the events that you have to be playing in and I'm obviously very excited about being able to do so. It's been a nice break but I'm keen to get going again and I'll be putting in some solid hours practising this week. I'm sure the current weather in Bristol will provide the perfect preparation for the sunshine that will be waiting for me over in the US, too!
