Cattle double ends Yate Town Reserves' wait for a win
The game between Yate Town Reserves and Hanham Athletic ended in a 3-1 win for the hosts, but for the first 62 minutes of this game Hanham were much the better side.
Hanham went in front when Richard Grinter squared the ball across goal for Jamie Mitchell to hammer home.
Hanham's Justin Cartledge hooked the ball into his own net to level the scores, but it only served to lift the home side and in the 67th minute Justin Cattle headed home from a Gary Powell corner to give Yate the lead.
Three minutes later Cattle was put clear and from the edge of the box smashed a shot past the visitors' keeper to give Yate a first win in five games.
DRG Stapletonimproved their chances of climbing the table with a 1-0 victory at B & W Avonside. The first half was a dour affair and it took until the 87th for the deadlock to be broken through former B & W player Jacob Cox.
Highridge United produced a shock 4-0 win at Tuffley Rovers, opening the scoring in the 38th minute through Mickey Adams. They increased their lead in the 49th minute through Nicky Pratten, who added a second on the hour mark. Adams claimed his second in the last minute.
Leaders Slimbridge were 3-1 winners over Thornbury Town.
Dennis Hilton opened the scoring on his debut before Marc Roffe headed in from a free-kick.
Slimbridge put the result beyond doubt when Lewis Wilton headed on for Dennis Hilton to fire home. Thornbury scored a consolation goal in the final minute from Steve Alexander.
Chipping Sodbury Town staged a comeback after trailing Patchway Town by two goals.
Adam Searle opened the scoring for the visitors in the 24th minute and a Tom Monks own goal in the 50th minute put the visitors in a commanding position.
However, Sodbury substitute Paul Harris fired in a 15-minute hat-trick to claim the three points.
Third-placed Kings Stanley met Henbury, who started the day in fourth.
Henbury opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Eddie Howells struck a superb volley from Adam Rosser's cross.
Kings Stanley drew level in the 35th minute through Ben Newman, but Henbury regained the lead when Ralph Timms headed home a Shane Hobbs free-kick. Stanley salvaged a point when Newman scrambled the ball home in the 70th minute.
Ellwood kept up their challenge for the title with a 1-0 win at home to Axa.
The home side felt they should have had a penalty in the first minute when Daryl Addis was brought down in the box, but the only goal of the game came in the 65th minute from Gary Roberts' superb free-kick. Ellwood had Tom Creed sent off in the last minute.
Mid-table Taverners and Bishop's Cleeve Reserves took a point each after a 1-1 draw in Nailsworth.
Tom Burridge gave Taverners the lead on the half-hour mark with a simple tap in from a corner. Right on half-time the visitors drew level when James Pickup netted from the penalty spot.
