The BBC has confirmed the filming of Casualty will move from Bristol to Cardiff
A BBC spokesman said: "We have previously said that moving Casualty will play a significant part in fulfilling our commitment to building a creatively sustainable centre of excellence for drama in Wales and, more broadly, it will accelerate the development of the creative sector there.
"Casualty will now enjoy significant benefits in joining the wider drama production community including Doctor Who, Torchwood, Pobol Y Cwm and The Sarah Jane Adventures."
The BBC said Bristol would remain a "centre for excellence" for natural history and factual programming.

“Casualty is a bristol institution. If you don't agree with me than you are silly billys. I've grown up here, and yes sometimes they can inconvience us, but the pro's easily outway the cons. Seeing charlie walking down the street was a real thrill, seeing the casualty vans parked down the road , brilliant. Forget the storylines, its all about trying to work out where the locations are. Casualty will be sorely missed by true bristolians. The grass isn't always greener...and you don't know what you've lost until its gone. RIP casualty”

“Let the people of Wales pay for Policing location filming/televising, plus the inconvenience of road closures. A main arterial road closure in Fishponds for 3 hours led to approx,. 10 seconds viewing”

“Is it really that big a story? I for one wont shed a tear when they leave. Perhaps they can go and harass the residents of Cardiff with the location shooting. Never has a statement had more meaning, good riddance to bad rubbish.”

“I think it is an absolute travesty to move Casualty to Cardiff, most of the cast wanted it to stay here, i'm sorry but compared to "brains in your underpants" drama like Skins, and Mistresses, Casualty is quality, if you had to move something, why not those two, or is it just easier to film trash?
Those in charge of Casualty had no intention of listening to anybody, it was clear that the majority wanted it to stay put, it will be so confusing , I mean you cannot call Bristol, Holby city anymore, viewers will know the film locations are not shot here .
The more I think about the Bristol I "once" loved so much, and adopted as my home, rather than Wiltshire where I was born, the more ashamed I am of telling anyone Bristol is where I live, it is not just losing Casualty there are other factors too.
Concorde has not got it's undercover home yet, it is rotting in the elements.
Then there is Bristol City County Council, who having a loathing for trees, all around the city there are , or were ,beautiful trees that have now been butchered or chopped down.
Well to whoever decided it is in the best interest to move Casualty, HOW WRONG YOU ARE, I would hope that loyal followers, and those working for BBC Bristol who also wanted Casualty to stay here , would appeal against this ludicrous outcome or, perhaps Casualty actors/actresses might strike, or something.
This is very sad for Bristol, I just wonder what this will also do to our economy, we gained a lot of revenue from it's location here.
One last thing, I sincerelly hope that you never think about moving OUR Natural History Unit out of Bristol, now, or in the future, it begs another question too, given the current climate of greedy "fat cats" I wonder what top people stand to gain more in their pockets as a result of this, there must be something in it for them, I am ashamed of the BBC here in Bristol, Casualty will be very much missed here, you don't care about the majority, as long as you are all alright.....pathetic.”
