Cash boost for youth summer activities
Young people in Congresbury will be able to enjoy a range of new activities over the summer.
Congresbury Youth Partnership has been awarded £2,400 by the Quartet Community Foundation's Grassroots Grants programme to provide activities for young people in the village over the next three years.
Youth Partnership spokesman, Ian Sheppard, said "We are working with the new community youth worker Sam Perry to put on activities every other week, weather permitting, until the end of September as well as more activities during school holidays.
"We are grateful to Quartet for this money which will enable us to build on our successful summer play scheme."
The first session will be a rounders match on May 6 from 6pm to 8pm at Broadstones playing field for young people aged between eight and 14 years old.
The session costs £1 and parents are welcome to go along and join in.
Details of further sessions will be available shortly on the Youth Partnership's website and on its two noticeboards in the village.
