A teenage girl who is battling cancer has been given a rather bizarre and unusual treat – getting to boss about Premiership football stars.

Hundreds of thousands of footy fans will get to see Becky Oatley, from Chippenham, Wiltshire, forcing Arsenal stars to try on comedy wigs in a charity film shot at the London club's training ground.

The 18-year-old was diagnosed with lymphoma in March this year, and lost her hair during a course of chemotherapy.

So when she was asked what she wanted the likes of Spanish European Championships winner Cesc Fabregas and African star Emmanuel Adebayor to do, the answer was easy – try on wigs just as she had to do.

The light-hearted advert is being screened at Arsenal matches, starting with next Sunday's crunch Premiership clash with Liverpool, as well as on the internet.

The film aims to raise awareness of the Teenage Cancer Trust, which Arsenal players picked as their charity partner for this season.

The stars, some of whom earn £80,000 a week, are donating a day's wages to the charity on Sunday, and have spent time visiting teenage cancer patients.

They agreed to be bossed around by a group of the youngsters they are helping, in a film called Do As I Say!, which is narrated by Arsenal fan and Little Britain comedian Matt Lucas.

Becky said: "It was brilliant going to the Arsenal training ground for the day to film the advert. It was a long day but really fun and we got to meet all of the players.

"My scene involved choosing a wig which was really appropriate for me as I lost my hair through the chemo.

"I found it really hard at first but now I'm a lot more comfortable which is good as I'm now going to be in a film without a wig on.

"It's great that the players are all donating a day's wages to Teenage Cancer Trust.

" I'm being treated on an adult's ward so haven't been lucky enough to be on a Teenage Cancer Trust unit, but I know how amazing they are."

Arsenal has set a target of raising £300,000 for the Trust over the course of the season and the film will tug the heart-strings of fans on the big screens at the Liverpool game this Sunday.

The film shows the stars appearing in funny scenarios doing whatever the teenagers want them to do.

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who is only 21, said it was a privilege to be involved.

"I visited the Teenage Cancer Trust unit back in August so I know what this means to the charity and the teenagers it helps," he said.

"I encourage all supporters to follow our lead and give what they can.

"This advert is a bit of fun for the players and we hope supporters enjoy it, but there is a very real message in it about helping teenagers and we hope to raise lots of money for this worthwhile cause."

Teenage Cancer Trust boss Simon Davies said: "From the launch of the partnership back in August, we've been heartened to see how Arsenal players, supporters and staff have responded to the charity.

"The dedicated matchday is another example of this wonderful campaign in action and the generosity shown by all at the club."
