People whose lives have been touched by lung cancer have bought equipment to help patients being treated in a Bristol hospital.

The A1 Lung Cancer Group is made up of people who have battled cancer, are going through treatment or are friends and family of patients with the disease.

As well as supporting people with cancer the group raises money for other causes in the city.

The group organises fundraising ideas such as barbecues and day trips.

Members also support other people affected by lung cancer, with treatment advice from lung cancer specialist nurse Sarah Smith, and receptionist Margaret Chamberlain.

Fundraising supporters include Little Stoke community centre, and HBOS at the Harbourside.

New members are always welcome to the meetings at Southmead Hospital, next to G Ward, on the first Monday of the month at 6pm.
