Cabbies helped to act as ambassadors for the city
HACKNEY cab drivers in Bristol have been given free copies of a new visitor guide to help increase their knowledge of the city.
Around 1,000 drivers have also been given complimentary tickets to some of the city's attractions, including the ss Great Britain, Bristol Zoo and At-Bristol, to help them act as ambassadors to the city.

Mayor George Ferguson with Bristol cab driver Mourad Tighilt
The initiative, launched yesterday, was thought up by tourist board Destination Bristol and mayor George Ferguson to help give visitors a warmer welcome to Bristol.
Mr Ferguson said: "I want Bristol to be the most welcoming city – one that goes out of its way to open its arms to visitors, to give them a great first impression and to take care of them in a way that ensures that they extol our virtues elsewhere." See the guide at www.visitbristol.co.uk.
