Two goals from Luke Garbacz helped CK FC on their way to a 6-2 victory over Three Lions Vets in the final of the GFA Sunday Minor Cup.

CK took two minutes to take the lead at Oaklands Park on Tuesday night when Garbacz's cross was met by the head of James Wilmott.

The lead lasted two minutes before Kevin Taylor equalised with a powerful shot.

Garbacz produced a cool finish in the 14th minute and Peter Fowler bundled the ball in to make it 3-1 to CK two minutes later.

After 22 minutes Garbacz was on target again, but the next goal came 12 minutes after half-time from Colin Milkins to give Three Lions hope.

However, CK secured the cup with two goals in the last 10 minutes of the game from first Peter Newton-Smith and then Dean Morgan.

The final fought out between two Bristol Regional Sunday League teams was played in a great spirit and was a credit to the league.

CK had fought their way to the final after a 5-1 semi-final victory over Bristol Athletic Reserves, while the Three Lions beat Avon Plate Reserves on penalties to clinch their place.

Southmead United founder member Ralph (Joe) Ledbury has died at the age of 77. He made more than 900 appearances for the club mainly in the Downs League, without ever being booked.
