Buss free-kick earns Frampton Rangers a vital point
Frampton Rangers A Under-10s settled for a 1-1 draw in a great game against Longwell Green A.
Longwell started the brighter but it was their opponents who took the lead from a Maddison Buss free-kick.
A long-range effort which flew in off the underside of the bar hauled Longwell level in the second half, and they might have had more goals had Frampton goalie Hariye Beydilli, and her defenders Rosie Williams and Kristie Chard, not enjoyed such fine games.
Frampton midfielders Ellie Todd, Connie Lanham, Jess Jefferies and Buss all played their part behind ever-threatening striker Lauren Penny.
Brislington A Under-11s cemented their position at the top of the B Division with a 4-2 comeback victory over a defiant Warmley Rangers side.
Hosts Rangers posed Brislington keeper Molly Weaving and her defenders Casie Dixon and captain Emma Sims lots of early problems, scoring twice as they appeared to take full control.
Brislington pressed hard in response and it took some fantastic goalkeeping and defending by Warmley to ensure a two-goal half-time lead.
The away side rallied in response and two awesome Mia Williams strikes after the break brought the scores level.
Brislington soon went in front with an impressive goal from Sophie Allen, followed by a killer fourth from striker Chloe Smith following industrious work down the right by Leah Perrott.
Meanwhile, Nichole Flourentzou, Lilly Badger and player-of-the-match Charlotte Cooper were among the goals as Mendip Girls Under-11s overcame Bristol Ladies Union 8-3.
Bristol Ladies Union Under-14s had to fight all the way to clinch a 2-1 victory over Backwell.
But for some resolute defending and a bit of luck, Union could have been a goal down after a shaky start, before picking themselves up to snatch the lead.
Following a succession of corners, Ceri Shepherd's ball in caused panic in the Backwell defence and star player Jazz Williams grabbed the opener.
The second half started at the same pace with Backwell trying hard to get the equaliser and Blues attempting to catch them on the break.
On one such counter, Union midfielder Maddie Mather's through ball was perfect for Williams to gather and score in-off the far post.
Backwell's pressure eventually told when left-midfielder Bex Holloway struck a consolation with a neat volley from the edge of the 18-yard box.
A never-say-die spirit earned Longwell Green Under-14s a point against Yate Town.
They took the lead through Bailey Thomson, who slotted the ball home shortly after the disappointment of missing a penalty.
Just as the game looked lost for Yate, Amy Hardy broke down the right to earn a throw and as it came in, the ball dropped invitingly for her to drive it into the corner of the net for the equaliser with the last kick of the game.
Charlotte Davis hit a hat-trick as St Nicholas Under-13s sealed runners-up spot with a convincing 6-1 away victory over AEK Boco A.
A Rosie Cronin brace and a superb 25-yard volley from Gemma Rallison ensured an emphatic win for Saints in a keenly-contested match, in which Rallison, Sarah Bruce, Chelsea Pearce and the effervescent Rianne Gingell dominated midfield. The back line of Abi Minett-Searle, Reagan Gingell, Eve Martin, Ellie Shipp, substitute Emma Williams and goalkeeper Libby Bell continued their recent fine form to keep Boco out, aside from a late lapse in concentration affording them a last-minute consolation goal.
Brislington Girls Under-13s rounded off an excellent unbeaten season as Holly Lapham fired all four of their goals in a 4-2 win over Stoke Lane.

Cardiff pulled a goal back in the second half before Lauren Ellis sealed the win with a 30-yard looping drive. Sophie Whelan was named Bristol's star player.
Chelsea Hill was BGL Under-10s' player-of-the-match in their 6-0 defeat by Cardiff, while Abbie Kirby, Rebecca Lane and Emily Wolfe were on target in the under-12s' 3-2 victory over their Welsh counterparts, in which Lori Stenning shone for BGL.
