The improved services are aimed at helping local residents and will be run in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council and Bristol UWE.

The service extensions have been funded through a Government grant.

Services 13 and 19 have a flat price of £3 for all day travel, or £2 single. Prices are further discounted to £2.50 a day and £1.67 for any single journey for Wessex Red smart card users.

Councillor Brian Allinson, Chairman of the council's Planning, Transportation and Strategic Environment Committee, says: "These new services are yet more evidence of the council's continuing commitment to make travelling by public transport as attractive an option as possible for our residents."
