He has already outlined his key priorities for the future, including improving the quality of service and public communication. Mr Tolley will also tackle anti-social behaviour and develop the Partners and Communities Together process. He said: "We will continue to maintain and raise the public's trust and confidence in the local police service by ensuring that the community's needs are recognised and addressed and that the public – especially victims – are put first at all times.
"I will continue to strive to ensure that the public receive the highest quality of service from our officers, which they should both expect and deserve. Ensuring that those who are involved in criminal activity and have a negative impact on the community are brought to justice quickly will remain my top priority. It is important that the community talks to us. I encourage them to come forward with information about what is happening in their area.
"The dialogue between the local residents and police is vital to ensure that we all have a healthy understanding of the needs and expectations of the community, so that we can continue to live and work in a really safe area."
Mr Tolley is also looking to increase the numbers of police volunteers across the area.
The roles include admin support, Police Post Support volunteers, Car Crime volunteers, Training Role Player volunteers and Puppy Socialising volunteers, in addition to Special Constables.
