Raiders attempted to carry out a raid on a supermarket in Burnham-on-Sea after making a hole in the roof.

Police officers were called to Tesco in Ben Travers Way on Monday, October 19, after maintenance workers discovered the hole.

Spokesman Simon Whitby said: "It appears a hole was created in the roof of the store in an apparent attempt to gain entry.

"It was unsuccessful and nothing was stolen."
