Bottom club Banbury led 3-1 at one stage in this topsy-turvy Southern League Premier Division game before Supermarine hit back to eventually take a point.

The home side took the lead early on through Leigh Henry but Banbury soon equalised through Nicky Gordon and then led 2-1 at the break when Lewis Travers took advantage of a slip by Supermarine goalkeeper Matt Bulman.

Gordon's second strike of the game, a penalty, straight after the re-start, seemed to have put Banbury in the driving seat but Henry got forward to net again and bring the scores to 3-2.

The sides were level after 67 minutes as Justin McKay crashed a 30 yard free kick into the top corner of the net. When Alan Griffin rounded Joe Murrell to put Supermarine 4-3 ahead it looked as if the home side were on course for another three points although Banbury had other ideas.

The visitors were awarded a free kick 25 yards out and when Richard Groves fired the ball into the danger area, Bulman was at fault again as he fumbled the ball into his own net.
