Bull charges to victory
Local talent featured highly in the Carps AC match fished on Cary Lake at Viaduct Fishery, Somerton.
The top rod overall was Dick Bull, who caught 58-13-0 of carp taken from Spit peg 80 with straight lead and meat.
Tim Pallant topped the silverfish category with 20-7-0 of tench, skimmers and roach taken from the lakeside margins of peg 88 with caster and worm.

* Peg13 on the North Bank of Hunstrete's Main Lake came up with treble tops for James White in a Bathampton AA Charity Carp match that raised £100 for Clic Sargent.
The Bristol-based carper set a new lake and club record, and broke a 29-year- old heaviest fish mark by 10ozs when he included a superb 34-14-0 mirror carp in an amazing, five carp catch totalling 125-12-0. His fish weighed 34-14-0, 25-15-0, 24-8-0, 24-0-0 and 16-7-0.

* Sensas Thyers made it two wins on the trot and moved into second place, one point ahead of Sensas Bathampton, who finished third in the fourth round of the Angling Times South West Winter League, fished on the River Avon at Newbridge.
Leaders Preston Innovations Thatchers put in their worst performance of the series.
The Wells-based squad finished in fourth place and go into the penultimate round with only two points separating the top three teams.
The top individual was Sensas Bathampton's Paul Isaacs, who fished feeder tactics at a peg situated in the trees at Saltford and used maggot and worm to tempt 18-1-0 of bream, skimmers and roach.

* Gary Etheridge clinched his second win in succession in the Bitterwell Lake Monday Open Series of winter matches.
The Garbolino BVMG member alternated between a waggler and long pole, with caster and maggot, and weighed-in 20-0-0 of silvers and carp.
Bill Ferris fished the same baits and feed at peg five and finished joint-second with Steve Jeffries, who fished identical tactics at 14 for a 15-3-0 mixed bag.

* Dave Woolman scraped home by just 2-10-0 from Martin Alexander to win the South West Disabled & Over-50s match fished on Match Pool at Acorn Carp Fishery, Kingston Seymour.
Woolman long-poled maggot both lakeside and into open water off peg four for a 56-0-0 mixed bag, while Alexander fished the same tactics at peg seven, on the straight, for a similar 53-6-0.

* Dean Malin topped both categories in the Bristol PSV AC match fished on Shepherd's Lake at Cider Farm Lakes, Lympsham.
He fished a variety of baits at peg one and included 14-2-0 of skimmers, perch and roach in his 57-15-0 winning catch.
