British Royal SC dropped points for the first time since joining the Bristol & Avon League this season when their run of 10 successive victories was ended by a 2-2 draw with Bideford OB.

Paul Smith fired the Royals in front, Chris Richens equalised with a header from a cross by Pete Davis, then struck again from close range to put the Old Boys 2-1 up.

Heavy pressure from the hosts was rewarded in the 87th minute when Smith struck again to deny the Old Boys a shock win.

Unbeaten De Veys extended their lead over the Royals to 12 points at the head of the table thanks to a 4-1 home success against Lawrence Rovers Reserves.

The leaders raced into a 4-0 lead in the first 20 minutes through John Bale, John Nutland, Chris Devey and Ben Garland, who also turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Mark Parsons to give Rovers a consolation goal.

A 3-0 win at Imperial Reserves kept Carmel United on course for minor honours. Cameron Rickets, Kenhide Oni and Aaron Williams got the goals.

FC Bristol scored twice in each half to win 4-0 at Bradley Stoke A, who were sunk by doubles from Warren Royal and Craig Johnson.

Iron Acton Reserves were denied a last-gasp equaliser in a 3-2 home defeat by Long Ashton Reserves when a shot from Scott Matthews hit a post.

Luke Hawker, Elton Taylor and Mike Crowker netted for the visitors, before Sid West and Josh Wren hit back in a rousing rally by Acton, whose manager Chris Wilmot felt his team deserved at least a point.

Golden Hill Reserves came from behind to beat Wessex Wanderers A 4-2, after trailing 2-1 at the break.

George Damsell and Ben Yearsley put Wanderers ahead, before goals from Ollie Fare (2), Dean Mansfield and Dan Lambourn sealed a hard-fought victory for the visitors.
