ROYAL BAKOFENG SPORTS PALACE

City: Rustenburg

Fixture: Saturday 30 May 1400(BST) v Royal XV

Capacity: 42,000

Altitude: 3,786 ft

Originally built as a venue for the 1995 rugby World Cup, the Royal BafokengSports Palace staged pool matches between France, Scotland, Tonga and The IvoryCoast. Now mainly used as a football stadium.

COCA COLA PARK

City: Johannesburg

Fixtures: Wednesday 3 June 1810(BST) v Golden Lions

Saturday 4 July 1400(BST) v South Africa (third Test)

Capacity: 60,000

Altitude: 5,885ft

More popularly known as Ellis Park, Johannesburg's premier rugby stadium hostedthe 1995 World Cup final when the Springboks beat New Zealand. It has beenearmarked to stage a semi-final in the football World Cup.

VODACOM PARK

City: Bloemfontein

Fixture: Saturday 6 June 1400(BST) v Cheetahs.

Capacity: 48,000

Altitude: 4,671ft

Another stadium that has been revamped in time for the Lions tour, Vodacom'scapacity has been increased from 36,538 in preparation for next year's footballWorld Cup.

ABSA STADIUM

City: Durban

Fixtures: Wednesday 10 June 1810(BST) v Sharks

Saturday 20 June 1400(BST) v South Africa (first Test)

Capacity: 52,000

Altitude: 367ft

The Lions' first match at sea level is also the venue for the first Test.Formerly called Kings Park, the ABSA stadium was first built in 1891 beforebeing renovated in 1990. It is used by The Sharks in Super 14.

NEWLANDS

City: Cape Town

Fixtures: Saturday 13 June 1400(BST) v Western Province

Tuesday 23 June 1810(BST) v Emerging Springboks

Capacity: 51,100

Altitude: 22ft

The Lions played at Newlands for the first time when they made their inauguraltour of South Africa in 1891. The ground also hosted the opening match of the1995 World Cup when the Springboks beat Australia.

NELSON MANDELA BAY STADIUM

City: Port Elizabeth

Fixtures: Tuesday 16 June 1400(BST) v Southern Kings

Capacity: 48,000

Altitude: 98ft

Completed in time for the Lions tour, the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is stateof the art multipurpose ground. It will also host seven matches in the footballWorld Cup and was built especially for the tournament.

LOFTUS VERSFELD

City: Pretoria

Fixtures: Saturday 27 June 1400(BST) v South Africa (second Test)

Capacity: 45,000

Altitude: 4,173ft

Rugby has been played at the site since 1906 with construction beginning on thestadium itself in 1923. Several upgrades later, it has been in its existingstate since 1984.
