Bristol youngsters to quiz panel of top figures
Top figures from Bristol's business and political community will form the panel for a Question Time-style debate next month to be hosted by the young leaders of tomorrow.
Members of Bristol Junior Chamber of Commerce (BJC) will address a range of issues focusing on how best the different groups and representatives of the city can work together to maintain and enhance Bristol's status in the region, the country and internationally.
The event, titled Shaping the Future of Bristol, will be held on Thursday, November 12, at 6pm at Bristol City Museum.
Confirmed panellists include Jan Ormondroyd, chief executive, Bristol City Council, John Savage, chief executive, GWE Business West, Malachy McReynolds, vice chair, CBI South West Council, Ned Cussen, partner, King Sturge, Alastair Sawday, managing director, Alastair Sawday Publishing and Rob Law, director, Trunki.
BJC president Sue Atkinson, said: "The BJC was formed in 1948 and, throughout its 60 years' history, has been instrumental in many of the important events in the city, including, for example, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, which was first conceived and launched by BJC members in 1979.
"We very much hope that Shaping the Future of Bristol will continue our tradition of commitment to, and involvement in, the city's development as well as providing an opportunity for our members – the leaders of tomorrow – to inform themselves about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead."
Admission will be strictly by ticket only.
